About Mini Lops
The Mini-Lop originated in Germany as the "Kleine Widder." Credit for introducing it to the US is generally accredited to Bob Herschbach who first exhibited two at the 1974 ARBA Convention in California. After the convention the name of the breed was Americanized to Mini Lop. Due to the tireless efforts of many breeders the Mini Lop was accepted into the ARBA in 1980 as a new breed. The standard weight for a Mini Lop is 4 1/2 to 6 1/2 lbs

Most colors are accepted in both broken and solid groups. For a neat picture guide to Mini colors click here. (color guide link to Vail's Lops)

In my experience, Mini Lops are very inteligent rabbits. They learn things quickly so it's important to steer them away from any bad behaviors as soon as they start them. They enjoy attention but they are also very active and can get impatient. I think they make some of the best house rabbits.
